Prayer

The Covid-19 Pandemic has put a halt to almost all our normal practices. our "normal" is displayed below for your interest

"Prayer is an offering up of our desires unto God, for things agreeable to his will, in the name of Christ, with confession of our sins, and thankful
acknowledgment of his mercies."                   Westminster Shorter Catechism

Our congregation continues to follow the practice established since before the birth of our denomination, of holding a weekly gathering - specifically for prayer and bible study. While this would normally be a Wednesday evening meeting, during  this challenging time of lockdown our congregation meet in groups, utilising the blessing of modern technology to come together.

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God". Philippians 4:6

Prayer Box inside the Church

There is a Prayer Box in the foyer of the church where prayer requests can be posted. The Prayer Team will empty this regularly and commit the requests to God. These requests can be anonymous or identified.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18

Prayer Box outside the Church

There is a Prayer Box outside the church on the town's High Street for our community to post prayer requests. These will be picked up regularly by the Prayer Team and responded to as appropriate.

“I urge, then, first of all that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
